Tree ring print, Woodcut from 372 year old tree Sitka Spruce from the Oregon Coast. Printed by hand on three 24x36 inch panels and signed.

This tree is truly awe inspiring. Imagine if this tree could speak. Around the time this tree started growing the US Census showed about 27,000 people living in the United States. Lewis and Clark hadn't been born yet and wouldn't pass near this tree for another 150 years. As far as I know, this is the largest tree that has ever been printed from. The triptych form gives it a beautiful look and also makes it easier to frame. The prints are made by hand and pressed from the actual stump of the Sitka Spruce. It is hard to find remnants of the old growth Sitka Spruce since they have been heavily logged in the Pacific Northwest. I found this slice of Sitka from a private collection in Oregon near Lincoln City. I think it's a beautiful way to immortalize this amazing tree. Since each print is made by hand and not machine printed, each one is as unique as the tree that it comes from.

Each print is like a fingerprint from mother nature and it is made by hand using the traditional woodblock method. Ships within 3-5 business days in a sturdy tube for safe delivery.
